Andras Bality, oil painter: "Painting in Plein Air"
Andy is a contemporary representational painter, drawing inspiration from predecessors Homer, Porter, Vuillard, and Monet. He captures vistas across Virginia and various other parts of the country with lightness, freedom, and intensity. Although based in realism, his paintings blur representation as he applies paint to convey a scene's energy as opposed to its accuracy. Small, vigorous strokes build into tangible layers, transporting the viewer to vistas both near and far. Andy is represented by Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, The Blue Print Gallery in Dallas, Texas, and the Willard Gallery in Portland, Maine. Learn more about Andy at www.andrasbality.com. |
