Virginia Museum of Fine Arts field trip - Double Feature at the Museum!  Tour the Chihuly exhibit in the morning, enjoy lunch on your own at Amuse or Best Cafe, and see Fine Arts and Flowers at your leisure in the afternoon.  Members may bring guests.  Visit the VMFA website at www.vmfa.state.va.us.

Holiday Luncheon.  Join friends and fellow JRAL members for the annual holiday luncheon in the beautiful Marble Hall at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts at 12:00 noon.    Named after its signature Italian pink marble walls, the Marble Hall is located in the heart of the museum.   Cost is $20.00 per person and guests are welcome.  Click here for more information or contact Mary Kent, Program Chair.

Watch "Snow Hill", a self-portrait of Andrew Wyeth, one of our great American painters.  This film incorporates his great works of art along with home movies of N.C. Wyeth and authorized interviews with Andrew Wyeth and famed model, Helga Testorf.

April 19, 2013
Travel to Newport News to see "Working South", a special exhibit of paintings by nationally recognized watercolorist, Mary Whyte, at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center.  Afterward, enjoy lunch with the group at Al Fresco.  Visit the center's website at www.pfac-va.org, and visit Mary Whyte's site at marywhyte.com.



Members were awestruck and inspired by Mary Whyte's exhibit, and bought out all copies of her book at the museum store.

May 17, 2013 *
ANNUAL MEETING.  Share results and enjoy critiques of work stemming from the Member Challenge issued in the fall.   This year's challenge was called the "River City" Challenge.  The goal was to produce a piece of art that truly speaks of Richmond.  Art works from this challenge may be exhibited at our 50th Anniversary Exhibit Celebration at Crossroads Art Center in March 2014.  Christopher Wynn will provide critiques on the art.
